Project with your choir

Are you a choir, vocal ensemble, male choir or other? Book us for your prestigious concert.
The concert formula “choral works with orchestral accompaniment” is highly appreciated by the public. Estro Armonico's ability to adapt to the demands of working with more or less professional vocal ensembles is exemplary. The orchestra managers meticulously plan the projects in terms of the program, the formation of the orchestra, and the course of the rehearsals, while always keeping an eye on the project's financing.

Composition of the orchestra

The composition of the orchestra may vary according to the needs of the works and the size of the choir. For a coherent result, a minimum of 10 strings is required (3 first violins, 3 second violins, 2 violas, 1 cello, 1 double bass). In order to achieve a good balance, the number of strings should be increased according to the number of woodwind instruments and the size of the choir.

A typical formation, Mozart style, would be for example a minimum of 15 strings (5,4,3,2,1) and 4 woodwinds (2 oboes and 2 horns). For performances, where a higher number of woodwinds and/or brass players are required - for example many romantic compositions - a correspondingly higher number of strings will be needed to achieve the right balance. In any case, we will advise you to find the best result.

Frequently asked questions

Rehearsals should be as efficient as possible, as the musicians are paid per rehearsal. In order not to take time away from the musical preparation of the project, it is necessary to solve all the problems of setting up the singers, for example, before the rehearsal begins. Estro Armonico's managers are on site before the rehearsal, the musicians are ready to play at the time of the beginning of the rehearsal, they have prepared the scores (which already contain the bowing strokes) at home. Usually, choral groups are very well prepared, so the rehearsals serve to put everything together, to find the right balance and a beautiful interpretation.

Estro Armonico has a lot of experience in this kind of work. The Konzertmeister (Guy Goethals / Jehanne Strepenne) is there to help and advise, and to act as a bridge between you and the orchestra if necessary. The musicians of the orchestra have the ambition to make every concert an event that gives the greatest satisfaction to the audience, the singers and their conductor, and by the way to themselves as well. Depending on the case, the concertmaster will meet with you to discuss the details of the scores and the desired interpretation.

Estro Armonico is open to all styles. Although Estro Armonico began with baroque and classical music, in their long career they have played in all possible genres, including pop, jazz, film music and musicals.
