Our concerts

The 2024-2025 season promises to be eclectic, romantic and open to all. In fact, the first concert takes listeners on a journey through frenzied polkas and waltzes arranged by Jeannot Weimerskirch.

2024 being Gabriel Fauré's jubilee year, the traditional All Saints' Day concert conducted by Gerry Welter pays tribute to him by programming his magnificent requiem.

The Advent concerts are romantic in the Cathedral with Bruckner, whose 200th birthday is also being celebrated, eclectic in Bettembourg with a potpourri of the finest pieces from the Baroque to the Romantic, Baroque in Arlon and Echternach, and finally Classical for the midnight mass in Luxembourg's Saint-Michel church.

L'Estro also works with young people to accompany them in their debut as performers or composition laureates. L'Estro is at the service of apprentice conductors, helping them to perfect their conducting skills at various workshops featuring Mahler's 5th Symphony, Mozart's 39th Symphony, works by Stravinsky and Respighi. A final highlight will be the composition workshop, where the orchestra will perform works by up-and-coming composers.

In January, Marc Dostert will lead the orchestra in a Messe for 4 voices, orchestra and 2 organs by Camille Saint-Saens.

Choirmaster Roby Schiltz will lead the orchestra in a masterly work close to his heart: Handel's Messiah.

In spring, L'Estro will stop off in Belgium for a candlelit evening of Mozart's Little Night Music and Jean-Marie Liégeois's violin concerto, a work composed during the confinement.

At the end of the season, the orchestra will deploy more pop sounds in Musicals, conducted by Werner Eckes.
