Galerie39, Dudelange
Conductor: Philippe Noesen
The 2026 Journées du Patrimoine are held under the theme "Heritage in peril: revive, resist, reinvent". For the occasion, Estro Armonico performs in two places shaped by Luxembourg's industrial history: in the morning at Galerie39 in Dudelange, in the heart of the Minett region, and in the afternoon at the Slate Museum in Haut-Martelange.
At the heart of the programme is a world premiere: "Red Rocks" by Pierre Kremer for marimba, alto flute, violin and string orchestra, whose title evokes the "Terres Rouges" of the country's south. The composer drew his inspiration from long walks across the Giele Botter, a former open-cast mining landscape where the exposed rock still seems to hold the memory of the place. It is joined by Philip Glass's hypnotically pulsing "Company" and Karl Jenkins's "Palladio", a tribute to the great Renaissance architect, whose stirring first movement many will know from film and advertising.
Under the direction of Philippe Noesen, the soloists Carlo Jans, Netty Glesener and Jehanne Strepenne take the stage.
Admission is free.
